SMS Compliance
SyndicateSMS is built for compliant SMS marketing. Here's how we help you stay on the right side of TCPA, 10DLC, and carrier regulations.
TCPA Compliance
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) requires businesses to obtain prior express written consent before sending marketing text messages. SyndicateSMS enforces this at every step:
- Every campaign requires you to confirm that your contacts have opted in before sending.
- Our consent modal presents TCPA disclosure language and requires acknowledgment before any bulk send.
- Opt-out keywords (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) are automatically honored — contacts who reply with these words are immediately blocked from future messages.
- Opt-in keywords can be configured to enroll contacts automatically.
10DLC Registration
10-Digit Long Code (10DLC) registration is required by US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) for application-to-person (A2P) SMS traffic. Unregistered numbers face filtering, throttling, and blocking.
- SyndicateSMS assigns every user a dedicated Telnyx 10DLC number.
- Our platform handles Brand and Campaign registration through The Campaign Registry (TCR).
- Registered campaigns see significantly higher deliverability and fewer carrier blocks.
- Your assigned number is linked to your registered brand — keeping your sending reputation clean.
Opt-Out Handling
Federal law requires that any recipient can opt out of receiving texts at any time. SyndicateSMS handles this automatically:
- Contacts who reply STOP (or any standard opt-out keyword) are immediately added to your blocked contacts list.
- Blocked contacts will not receive future messages — even if re-added to a campaign group.
- You can review and manage blocked contacts from your dashboard at any time.
Best Practices We Recommend
- Always collect written or digital opt-in consent before texting anyone.
- Include your business name in every first message (e.g., "Hi, this is Matt from SyndicateSMS…").
- Include opt-out instructions in your initial outreach ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe").
- Do not send messages between 9 PM and 8 AM in the recipient's local time zone.
- Keep your contact lists clean and only message people who have expressed interest.
